The Claw House sits right on the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, and it doesn’t try too hard to be Lowcountry — it’s a New England-style lobster house first, with live North Atlantic lobster trucked in twice a week and a 30-seat horseshoe raw bar slinging oysters, littlenecks, and Jonah crab claws. Every seat in the house looks out over the marsh, there’s a big climate-controlled deck for when the weather cooperates, and a fish tank up front that keeps the kids occupied while you wait for a table. It’s not fussy — think craft beer, a full bar, and a menu that covers both “serious seafood” and “land lubber” comfort food for anyone in your group who isn’t feeling the ocean.

Happy hour runs daily from 4–6pm at the bar — $1.50 oysters, $1 peel-and-eat shrimp, and half-price drafts, which makes it one of the better deals on the whole Marshwalk. If it's your first time, the Crab Rangoon Nachos come up again and again as the table favorite — order them before your entrée, not with it, so you're not fighting over the last chip. Kayak Access
There's no dedicated kayak dock at The Claw House itself, so the easiest approach is to launch from Morse Park Landing — it's the closest public landing to the Marshwalk and only a short paddle up the creek. From there, follow the channel in and either pull up near Crazy Sister Marina, where there's dock space and foot traffic headed straight onto the boardwalk, or beach your kayak along the accessible bank near the north end and walk in. Keep an eye out for boat traffic in the main channel — this stretch gets busy with charter boats and the Marshwalk cruise boats, especially around sunset. Time it right and you can paddle in, watch the sun go down over the marsh from the deck, and be back at your launch site before dark.
