Creek Ratz leans hard into its name — nautical décor, a rustic beamed ceiling, a fireplace for cooler nights, and a menu spelled with more z’s than you’d expect (“Starterz,” “Basketz,” “Sandwichez”). It’s one of the more laid-back stops on the Marshwalk: full raw bar with shrimp, oysters, clams, and crab legs, plus baskets, po’boys, wood-fired pizza, and a kids’ menu that makes it an easy call for families. Both indoor and outdoor bars look out over the water, TVs are scattered throughout for anyone tracking a game, and live music runs most nights — so it tends to have more energy than some of its neighbors on the boardwalk.

Happy hour runs daily from 4–7pm, with cold drinks and easy prices right on the water — locals treat it as one of the more reliable happy hours on the whole Marshwalk. Regulars keep coming back for the fried shrimp and oysters, and the Shrimp Po Boy gets singled out often enough to count as a fan favorite. Save room for the "Murrells Inlet Wedding Cake" — a warm moon pie topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate syrup — it's the dessert people mention days later. Kayak Access
Creek Ratz sits mid-boardwalk, an easy walk from either end of the Marshwalk once you're off the water. If you're paddling in, Morse Park Landing is still your best bet for a launch site — it puts you in the creek with a short, sheltered paddle before the channel widens near the boardwalk. There's no dedicated kayak dock at Creek Ratz itself, so land near Crazy Sister Marina or pull up on the accessible bank and walk the rest of the way in. The mid-Marshwalk stretch tends to have steady foot and boat traffic in the evenings, especially when live music is going, so keep some distance from the docks as you paddle past.
