Bovine’s Wood Fired Specialities

Wood-Fired Steaks, Pizza & Seafood on the Marshwalk

About

Bovine’s sits at the north end of the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, and it’s the one to know if your group can’t agree on seafood versus something heartier. Everything runs through the wood-fired grill and brick oven — steaks, fresh local catch, and specialty pizzas all get the same treatment — so it plays well for a table split between dedicated carnivores and pickier eaters. Dine indoors in the relaxed dining room or grab a seat on the open deck for inlet views and the evening breeze. It’s an easy, unpretentious stop: no dress code, kid-friendly, and steady enough that regulars keep coming back for the same dish trip after trip.

Local Insider Tip
Happy hour runs 4–7pm, one of the longer windows on the Marshwalk, so there's less pressure to rush over right at opening. Ask locals what to order and the corn pudding comes up constantly — it's become something of a cult favorite, with more than a few visitors admitting they plan return trips around it. The crab balls are another regular mention. Bovine's also hosts an annual Jimmy Buffett tribute party with live tropical music on the deck, plus seasonal events tied into the Marshwalk's calendar (think Halloween, the Wonderland of Lights, and New Year's Eve) — worth checking their events page if you want to time a visit around one.
Kayak Access
Bovine's is the first restaurant you'll hit paddling in from the north end of the Marshwalk, which makes it a natural first stop if you're launching from Morse Park Landing. It's a short, mostly sheltered paddle up the creek before the channel opens up near the boardwalk. There's no private kayak dock at Bovine's, so plan to land near Crazy Sister Marina or beach your kayak on the accessible bank close to the north end, then walk the short stretch of boardwalk in. Watch for boat traffic once you're near the marina — it's one of the busier pockets of the inlet, especially on weekend afternoons.
